Who We Are

Washington's National Potomac Yacht Club welcomes all power boating enthusiasts. This non-profit organization was established in 1963, for boating pleasure, recreation, education, and safety.

The NPYC is located at Columbia Island Marina -- off the George Washington Memorial Parkway -- in the national park across from the Pentagon. (A map can be found by clicking on the "About Us" page of this web site.)

Our purpose is to improve boating and dock facilities along the Potomac River, and to work with other organizations to promote safety and improve cruising conditions.

Numerous functions and activities are conducted and coordinated through the club newsletter, The Skipper. It informs our members of the latest nautical activities and social events in the Washington Potomac region. Our club is justifiably famous for its extended cruise each summer, to various ports of call.

Over the decades, the NPYC has sponsored and supported many efforts to enhance boating, and to preserve the public waterways. Come celebrate over forty years of Potomac River power boating with us -- the National Potomac Yacht Club!
